Language Arts – Block 1

Before and After

A normal happy kid, playing video games everything was “gravy” until that day. What I did is a very vague memory but I know that what I did was in no way deserving the punishment that was given to me. I merely received a pink slip from school and my dad reacted as if I took the president as a hostage.  The car was full of tension and angry faces that my dad kept making. As my backpack hit the wall I felt the grip of a 200 pound 6’3 man grab my shoulders. Not knowing what to think I start panicking only being in 3^rd grade I don’t know how to act in a situation like this. “What’s the matter with you” says my dad as he’s repeatedly punching me over and over. I hear my mom yell “that’s enough’’ my dad finally leaves and I muster up whatever self positivity and confidence that I have a go talk to my mom. As I’m walking out of my bedroom I can feel the negative energy.  The memory of that night is very vague but I remember I didn’t want to go to school the next day because I didn’t want to get in trouble. Pretty soon after that the beatings got so frequent that after about the 10^th time my body adjusted to it and got used to it. Sometimes I’d go straight home and sit in my room because I knew what was going to happen when my dad got off work and came home.

 As I got older it’s not like the beatings stopped as I became more and more mature the beatings never really affected me so I never Payed attention to them. The beatings never did seize but continued as more of a reminder not to mess up anymore. I didn’t really express myself like I should have but instead I started acting out more and more soon it led to ditching then tagging now look where I’m at JCCS and I’m on probation. These are all the consequences of my rebellion towards my dad. Obviously these decisions didn’t make anything better but they worsened my overall condition. The beatings intensified so much that I started to miss-behave intentionally because I thought my dad would give up on me and let me live with my mom again.

 I`m still holding onto an enormous amount of animosity towards my dad. We had to do a mediation with my dad about a month ago and I broke down everything from the past just came flying “ you can’t change the past but you can arrange the future”  a quote from that day which really made me forgive my dad but to remember that everything happens for a reason. I would like to thank my dad for putting me threw everything because without his abuse I wouldn’t be the young man that I’ve become today.

hell yea its dangerous to use that while driving.
2. Should cell phones be banned completely while driving or are they safe to use with hand-free devices?
no because they can have an emergency and need to talk to somebody.

1) Do you think social networking sites have made a positive or negative impact on your life and our society? they have made a positive and a negative impact on my life because i wake up facebook,tumblr and a positive impact because of all of the friends you  can make online

because people can talk to somebody anytime anywhere

3) As of 2011, it is legal for colleges and businesses to view the social networking profiles of applicants. Do you think that is a violation of their privacy?
yes because its there life and what they do outside of there profession

3.) i am sastified with all my grades except for my algebra grade because its low

4.) i can make up all of my missing assignments and stay on top of them to make sure i get a good grade

Q2, Week 4 Critical Reading Passage - Should Human Cloning Be Allowed

Should human cloning be allowed?

Cloning became a hot topic when Dolly the Sheep was cloned from an identical sheep in 1997. Cloning basically equates to creating a genetic twin. There is no evidence that human cloning has occurred yet, but it is believed that scientists have the ability to do so. Most countries have evaluated the pros and cons of human cloning and limited or outlawed it. If you look at this in a different context, there are human clones among us right now. They are identical twins, created naturally, not in a lab. Supporters of human cloning say that it could help couples who are struggling with conceiving a baby. More importantly, many people say that human cloning could be used to save lives by cloning a diseased liver or heart or to replace a body part like an arm. In this context, human cloning may not be such a bad thing.Opponents of human cloning say that people are “playing God” and they equate that with going against many people’s religious beliefs. Some people fear that scientists could create “superhumans” that would be bred as super-soldiers or super-athletes which would make it impossible for non-cloned humans to compete with them.




My Response to it

i do not think human cloning should be allowed because the earth would become over-populated even more so anybody can have a baby when ever they want as technology maybe so far advance to possibly having artificial woumbs and the lady wouldnt need to have a baby. there are many different factors to human cloning. but on the other hand it could be good to have human cloning if a family member past away then you could recreate them but the personalitys would be the complete opposite due to it being a clone and not an exact replica.
